Lots of exciting things are happening in School these last few weeks of term. There will be Christmas concerts, parties for children and a visit from a very special person! This is not including all the lovely things that happen in School every day. Please see the latest Newsletter for more details.
Well done to Leelan (pictured with mum Emma) and Ramiro who have been invited to the Lord Mayor’s Attendance Awards on 13th July. This is due to them both achieving 100% attendance for this school year!! School are very proud of this achievement and we look forward to giving out more golden tickets next year.
Nursery is supporting the Nottingham Blanket Drive. We are kindly asking if any families have thick warm blankets, to donate to refugees in Paris during the cold winter months. If you have anything you would like to donate, please can you bring them into Reception by Friday 3rd March at the latest.
For further information please speak to Mrs Johnson or visit blanketdrive.ngsolidarity.com/
Thank you for your help.
School would like to say a very big “Thank You” to all of our parents who contributed to our recent Harvest Festival donation. As promised, all the food we collected in School was donated to a local foodbank and they have sent us this certificate! This will go such a long way to help local families in need of support. Many thanks for your generosity.
On Friday 4th November, the children celebrated the Hindu festival Diwali in School. We learned that this is known as the Festival of Light, we found out about the customs and cultures of this festival, shared photos of how people celebrate and tried some delicious food and drink! The children were able to dress-up and dance – we had a wonderful time!
School has just been awarded the prestigious ‘Learning Outside the Classroom’ Mark – Gold Award, in recognition of the outdoor and off-site opportunities which we offer our children (aged 2-4) and the work we do in terms of promoting learning outside of the classroom with other professionals. We are very pleased about this as it offers us recognition of something which is an absolutely integral part of our provision and which research shows is vital to children’s development, well-being and learning.
We are now one of only 20 schools in the UK to have this award and 1 of only 2 nursery schools http://www.lotc.org.uk/lotc-accreditations/lotc-mark/lotc-mark-accredited-schools/
LOtC Mark is intended to recognise existing exemplary provision, and to support schools in enabling all children to have access to meaningful LOtC experiences. Full details can be found here http://www.lotc.org.uk/lotc-accreditations/lotc-mark/
