Fiona Brightly, our founder and lead educator, has spent over 15 years working with young children across the UK and Ireland. With a degree in Early Childhood Education and a deep belief in the power of early years, Fiona started Nottingham Nursery School to fill a gap she saw in accessible, high-quality preschool care. Her approach is gentle but intentional — grounded in research, enriched by experience, and always centered on the child.
Fiona created Nottingham Nursery School after witnessing how few nurseries truly prioritized emotional well-being alongside academic readiness. She wanted a place where children weren’t rushed, where teachers knew each child by name, and where learning felt like an adventure — not an assignment. That vision became our reality.
