Information for Parents

Parents are very welcome at our Nursery School.

We try our best to keep parents informed, happy and engaged with their child’s progress.  Soon after admission, parents will be asked to complete the first part of a Learning Journey, which is about your Unique Child and will 0ffer you and your key person an opportunity to get to know each other and to share information about your child which will help us to settle them in and to develop them.  There will be opportunities during your child’s time with us to complete further parts of the Learning Journey and for us to share information with you.  If your child has Special Educational Needs or other difficulties, we will work with you to support your child and you.  We have a wealth of experience and expertise between us and we are here to help.  We also have very good links with health and other agencies who would be able to assist you and can help with arranging meetings for you.

There is a parent area just off Reception where parents wait with their child before the session starts and there is a slide show here with photos showing activities the children have been doing.    There are several notice boards and tables with information for parents in Reception and the parent area.  Please ask if you need anything translating or explaining.  There is also a monthly Parents newsletter with events and information.

We offer family learning and parent courses at times during the term.  Please look on the parent notice boards in Reception and on the newsletters each month for current opportunities.   Every week there is information on the registration boards outside each group room, and in the parent area, describing what we are teaching that week.  It will include festivals, story of the week, songs, visitors and opportunities for you.

We have 4 parent governors on our Governing Body and currently have a vacancy.  If you are interested in becoming a school governor, please ask for further information at Reception.
