Training Room and Courses
In addition to the school, the centre has a separate well-equipped training room.
The main aim of this space is to deliver professional development to early years practitioners from across the City.
The purpose built, fully accessible training room is situated upstairs in the Nottingham Nursery School overlooking the Nursery outdoor play area. The large training room features an interactive presentation board, is WiFi enabled and has a dining area / break out space attached. The centre is ideal for all kinds of training events and meetings with its variety of seating options. Leading off from the training room is a spacious decked area where participants can relax between sessions – weather dependent!! The facility is suitable for school staff training and INSET and comfortably accommodates 30 people.
Currently courses are offered for childminders, private daycare nurseries, school early years staff as well as voluntary and community childcare providers in the City. Courses include Health and Safety, Paedeatric First Aid, Special Education Needs training and Early Years Foundation Stage training. For details of these courses please visit Nottingham City Early Years website
The Nursery School also facilitates courses for schools’ Early Years staffs in conjunction with nationally accredited trainers.
This year there are two cluster groups – one on Outdoor Learning and one on Principles into Practice (indoor environment) – which we are providing with consultants from Early Excellence in Huddersfield (www.earlyexcellence.org)
There is also a four day course on the new EYFS with Kate Young, an Early Years trainer from Derbyshire.
Please contact the Nursery for details and availability of these courses.
